Henry Cavill---Man of Steel.
My only two renderings of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, Superman, thus far. More to follow as the hype begins on Superman Vs. Batman. They really shouldn't fight, they should just go eat and enjoy the work of their seamstresses.
Ty Cobb? Why that's "Musial" to my ears!
My personal Star Wars saga continues---
V-19 Star Fighter. Copic markers and airbrush. |

The Flying Hood Ornament! Deco-style!
I've got nothing to say--other than, "It's The Rocketeer!"
All hail Dave Stevens, artistic juices good for the creative soul.

And the Braves, Yankees, and Padres--take the field.
Good grief! Has it been since April that I posted anything on my own blog?! I'm trying to rationalize the lapse in posting and the only thing that comes to mind is Facebook. Me thinks it was around April that I decided to re-inlist and begin self-promoting an art-page there. And that seems to be working out ok. I can post art, say little, and it doesn't require that I resume a full-fledged social account with them, which is really the way I prefer it. Show art, talk less.
Anyway, here, are some recently released Leaf Masterworks 2013 sketch cards that I Copiced out. These have been released, some are on Ebay at the moment for sale, and they all have neat authentic signature direct from the athletes. Leaf's got some really great stuff going on right now, and I'm happy to be working with them. More to follow and thanks for reading.

KISS and Make-up!
The rock band KISS, the original founding members from 1973-1979, inspired me with so much creativity as a kid, I felt prompted to revisit some older band photos and create some new pieces. Here's two drawings, one of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, drawn in colored pencil, Copic markers and airbrush on Canson flavored papers.
I had a lot more fun working on these pieces as I felt like I treated them more like sketches and didn't put the normal polish into them as I'm used to. However I may be the only who can tell the difference, but trust me, the scribble is there. :)
Upon completion of Gene and Paul Stanley, (no relations) I'll scan the larger images and post the finished results.
Thanks for looking!

Turning over a new 'Leaf'.
Wonderful new client, even better creative director--
The Leaf Card Company just released the 2013 Best of Leaf Hockey Cards in the market place just a few short weeks ago and obscure sketch cards seem to be popping up on Ebay and on other internet sport hot spots. While the sport of hockey isn't even on my radar, the big time players, both historical and contemporary, are admittedly a lot of fun to draw. I mean-- who wouldn't want to draw a toothless strongman carrying a menacing grim reaper-like stick who wears a mask like Mike Myers?!
Great personalities, great faces! This was a fun job.
Thanks for looking.
